Middle School Retreat

Training Leaders for Youth Traffic Safety

The Middle School Retreat is a day-long event offered to member middle schools and youth groups. The retreat provides additional training and education to students on passenger safety, passenger rights, and general traffic safety topics. The day’s agenda will include hands-on and interactive outdoor activities, special speakers, and time for schools/youth groups to begin action planning for the upcoming school year. At the conclusion of the retreat, students and adult advisors will be able to lead an effective peer-to-peer club for youth traffic safety.

Retreat Goals:

  • Educate young passengers about their risk factors in a motor vehicle and how to reduce those risks through a variety of interactive training sessions, special speakers, and educational programs.
  • Prepare students and their adult advisors to lead effective peer-to-peer clubs for youth traffic safety.
  • Build positive relationships between law enforcement and youth.

The Middle School Retreat may be offered pending available resources. For more information or questions, please contact YOVASO’s Program Manager, Mary King.
